Congratulations to the winners of the following categories: Star Staff: Dre Duvendack; Star Student: Brandon Damm; and Youth Volunteer: Natasia Brown.
As we celebrate the achievements of our community champions, we also renew our commitment to fostering a culture of service and philanthropy. We invite everyone to join us in this journey, whether by volunteering their time, donating to a worthy cause, or simply spreading kindness wherever they go.
One example of exemplary volunteerism is the Distinguished Volunteer Award Winner. Congrats first to the finalists, Cheryl Lipe and Andy Smith. The winner, Donna Brown, founded iMagicNation in August 2013 which is a nonprofit geared toward improving children's reading skills. Donna says that "Through volunteering, I am depositing into young people things it has taken me a lifetime to know and understand." What a great gift to give the up and coming generation - the knowledge of those who have gone before. Thank you, Donna, and congratulations!
Last but not least was the recognition of the Organization of the Year. Recognized for its work with immigrants and refugees, Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network exists because of volunteers, says founder Veronica Espina. Congratulations for the incredible work being done in our community to ensure that all individuals can thrive.
In the end, the Good As Gold Ceremony is a celebration of the best of humanity—the kindness, generosity, and compassion that unite us all. It is a reminder that, together, we have the power to create a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.
To all our honorees and volunteers, thank you for your selfless service and unwavering dedication. You truly are the heart and soul of our community, and we are forever grateful for everything you do.
Let's continue to shine brightly, together, as we strive to make our community and the world a better place for all.
