Meet our Employee Campaign Coordinator, Brice Magowan of Bank of Springfield.
Brice is the Human Resources Officer at Bank of Springfield (BoS) and has been an Employee Campaign Coordinator (AKA: ECC) for two years. We asked him what makes a successful campaign, and he said "Communication!". He said it's important to share information about the great things that United Way is doing in the community and what our donations can do. "Be sure to remove barriers so that you can get participation and have options for all employees."
Brice not only serves the United Way as ECC, he also volunteers for our Day of Action and on a committee. He began his role as ECC as we all were coming out of COVID. He knew it would be new territory to navigate, but he was up for the challenge and wanted it to be a successful campaign for United Way. He says that becoming an ECC takes time and dedication. He says that the BoS management have been very supportive because they are also passionate about United Way, the communities they serve, and philanthropic efforts. He adds "Don't be afraid to shake things up and have fun!"
Brice and the Bank of Springfield team also see the power in volunteerism, so they volunteer with Day of Action. The photo shows the team volunteering at our Spring 2023 event. The entire team came out to support the Springfield Art Association and Edwards Place with some much needed landscaping assistance. It was a beautiful day for the event, and the entire team had a wonderful time.
When asked "Why United Way?" Brice said, "United Way is a terrific organization that helps in all communities in some way or another. In order for our communities to grow and become stronger, we need to support financially and through volunteerism. United Way does just that."
