ECC Spotlight: Dan Barcik

"Being an ECC has been an amazing experience. If you have to the opportunity to be an ECC, go for it! You will not regret it! Be the DIFFERENCE!"

Meet our Employee Campaign Coordinator, Dan Barcik of Bank of Springfield.Bank of Springfield staff accepting award at 2023 UWCIL Annual Meeting

Dan is the Assistant Vice President at Bank of Springfield and has been an Employee Campaign Coordinator (AKA: ECC) for two years. Dan encourages others to become a champion in their own workplaces. When we asked him what he would say to others considering becoming an ECC, he emphatically said "Do it! It's very rewarding knowing you are helping lead the charge to help drive funds for the communities we serve. You can see first hand how the funds you raise help those within the communities we live in."

Dan says that because Bank of Springfield (BOS) is a community bank, it is important that they serve and support the communities that they live and work in. "By supporting the United Way, we have the opportunity to give back within our communities." He shares that this is important to him as an individual, as it is to many of their staff.

Bank of Springfield's campaign is going on at the time of publication. Shout out to the employees as they participate in their theme days and continue to #liveunited. Dan says that a successful campaign is all about getting the word out about how "United Way helps, serves, and supports our communities...everything else falls into place." Their campaign was so successful in 2022 that they were recognized at the United Way Annual Meeting. The photo is of Dan, fellow ECC, Brice Magowan, and BOS staff receiving their multiple awards. Dan and Brice were recognized as a "Campaign Coordinators of the Year" in 2022, and Bank of Springfield received the Gold Campaign Achievement Award.

"Be the DIFFERENCE", Dan says. He tells us that "being an ECC has been an amazing experience. If you have the opportunity to be an ECC, go for it! You will not regret it!"
